Christiansborg Palace

As the weather grows colder and the skies fill with grey clouds, I find myself reminiscing about my autumn trips. Like last November when we flew North to Copenhagen and spent a weekend hiding from the chill inside boats, towers or palaces, like this one.

Christiansborg Palace is not only a royal palace, it is also the seat for the Danish Parliament and the Supreme Court. So you can imagine it is pretty big and fancy. I mean, it has a throne room! Do you have a throne room? No, I don’t think you do.

The palace is located right in the centre of the city, so you can’t miss it. It’s worth a visit if you like walking on red carpets in luxurious palaces… while wearing plastic bags on your shoes, so you don’t bring in dirt from the street, you poor, filthy peasant!

Jokes aside, it is a wonderful palace. And it has a library!

  1. Great post! I have never been to Denmark but would really like to 😊 I love walking around in palaces, pretending like I belong and imagining how life was at those times! The plastic bags on the shoes make me think of Russian palaces were I had to wear them as well ahah 😁 thanks for sharing!!
