Lying on a beach in Greece, listening to the constant sound of the waves and gathering up sunshine like a happy lizard, I could almost shut up my overly worrying mind. The water was clear and clean, the beach wasn’t crowded and my boyfriend was diving and looking for underwater wonders. For a while, I could relax and stop panicking about my future and about my present and all the things that could go wrong.

Moments of peace have been so rare this year. I am amazed every time they come around.
