Cat Cafés may be popular in Japan, but Europeans have proven to be less open minded when it comes to mixing their pets with their tea. Attempting to change that, there is a Japanese cat café in the small streets of central Vienna. Café Neko, deriving its name from the Japanese word for cat, is one of the alternative coffee houses that the city offers.
Its five cats range from the fluffy, lazy variety to the unfriendly and angry one. If you manage to get them away from the clutches of the overly excited children keeping them hostage, you can even get to play with them. The coasters for your drinks are also cat-shaped in this place. It’s the perfect place for a day when you just feel like you need more cat in your life. And let’s face it – that’s pretty much every day.
Cat Cafés are a thing?
And to think of how much time I’ve wasted in South America without them

Yes, as far as I know they are quite popular in Asia, especially Japan. We definitely need to have more of them around the world!
